First Aid for School leavers.

Did you know that many tertiary courses and occupations now require a First Aid Certificate for participants/employees to remain in their chosen field. For senior school students we offer the Apply First Aid course, (previously known as Senior First Aid), for the discounted price of $110. This fee includes course registration,the online theory component, (or hard copy work for those with no internet access), practical classroom session after completion of online component, and nationally recognized Certificate of Attainment. Participants are also issued with a first aid reference book, (over 250 pages, not the tiny book some providers supply), for future reference.

It is important that students entering the workforce, or going on to other studies, ascertain if First Aid qualifications are a pre requisite for their chosen field. Occupations and courses that now require a First Aid certificate include nursing, allied health occupations such as physiotherapy and speech therapy, teaching, engineering, some hairdressing, workplace health and safety, certain retail positions, security, police, even traffic controllers, just to mention a few.

A First aid Certificate, (which includes CPR), is current for a period of 3 years, providing that the CPR component is revised every 12 months. Why? Because CPR protocols can change from time to time. It is also advisable to do the CPR update, even if nothing has changed, to keep skills up to date.
Without CPR being reassessed every 12 months, the actual 3 year period for the First Aid certificate being "current" becomes null and void.
So it is even more important to keep your CPR up to date, because that is what will save a life before anything else.

Anyone over the age of 14 years can partake in an Apply First Aid course.
